My music is all DRM free and I don't subscribe to Apple Music, but iTunes Match has been a seamless experience for playing all of my curated-to-personal-tastes music on any device I happen to be in front of, and that, more than anything, is the experience I'm trying to replicate, without an annual subscription. With that said, all the research I've done basically points to everyone agreeing that PlexAmp is the only client worth messing with, and PlexPass is required for PlexAmp, which just replaces one service with another - and in this case a more expensive one, because I will never be streaming video off my LAN.ġ) Is there a client that works with Plex for audio that doesn't require a subscription?Ģ) If so, how taxing is it to stream audio?įinally a request - no Apple bashing. Plex Community Discord Rules At home, I tend to listen to music using my desktop and I prefer to use Plexamp for Windows because the interface is great when you're simply listening to music but I see Plexamp as the 'Player' and my Windows Plex App (or ) as the main program for organising music.
